A museum in an old seminary

Since 1983 the Bayeux Tapestry has been housed in a building which also houses the town’s multimedia library.

It is the old Bayeux Seminary, a huge classical style edifice built in the last decade of the 17^th century. It stands on the site of a medieval priory, of which only the chapel remains, a treasure of Norman Gothic architecture from the 13^th century.
